We had a great day today! The weather was absolutely beautiful. Our day started with the first leg of the Louisville Triple Crown. The race this morning was a 5k in downtown Louisville. My friends Kate and James (and little Calli) ran in the race also. Rick and Mae cheered everyone on! In 2 weeks, we'll run the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown which is a 10k and the final leg is a 10 miler about 3 weeks after that. THE DERBY FESTIVITIES ARE STARTING ALREADY! The derby is less than 2 months away!! We are really excited for this year's Kentucky Derby.
Tonight, Rick embraced one of his newest passions.... Southern BBQ! After much preparation and slow cooking, we enjoyed a Kentucky Bourbon BBQ sauce covered brisket. That's right, we had brisket. I can just see it now, next week we'll probably be eating Mutton! YIKES!
We also enjoyed time together playing in the yard with Brown Dawg and Mae. It was such a beautiful day and so much fun. We are loving every day we have with Mae. So blessed. wow.
